‘A Christmas Carol’ Comes to Lorton

A one actor performance on Dec. 3 at Workhouse Arts Center

Nationally known John Hardy will be performing his one-actor adaption of Charles Dickens’ iconic “A Christmas Carol” at the Workhouse Arts Center. “Even though it is the same story as the book, the experience of actually watching an actor move through the events of a play is vastly different than simply hearing the story or reading the book. I get entirely caught up in the story as I am doing the play, and the audience goes right along with me,” said Hardy.

Small Plates Choreography Festival Returning to Workhouse Arts Center

The Workhouse facility “supports the idea of short, small dance works presented together. It’s an intimate environment, conducive to a personal feedback experience with the audience,” said Beth Elliott of Northern Virginia Community College. Continuing its role as a locally-based incubator venue for Northern Virginia, the Workhouse Arts Center will be presenting the “Small Plates Choreography Festival.”

Workhouse Arts Center theater opens new season.

After over a year’s hiatus, the Workhouse Arts Center will be producing in-house productions of live theater once again. The productions will add to the already many offerings at the Workhouse. “We are very excited to return to in-house production starting with ‘The Rocky Horror Show,’” said Joseph Wallen, director of performing arts, Workhouse Arts Center.
